CVE-2026-46333 is a nine-year-old local privilege escalation flaw in the Linux kernel’s __ptrace_may_access() function, exploitable by any local user on default Debian, Fedora, and Ubuntu installations via four confirmed exploit chains targeting SUID binaries. A public PoC is available. Successful exploitation yields root access, /etc/shadow password hash exposure, and SSH host private key theft.
