Financially motivated threat actors are bypassing Meta’s AI-powered biometric identity verification on Instagram by submitting AI-generated deepfake videos, enabling full account takeovers of high-value accounts with no viable recovery mechanism through Meta’s automated support pipeline. No CVE has been assigned; this is an architectural failure in Meta’s account recovery process. Organizational risk is concentrated in enterprises with brand-critical Instagram accounts, advertising dependencies on Meta platforms, or executive personal accounts linked to business infrastructure.
