Android 17 Beta 2 introduces a platform-level control under Advanced Protection Mode (AAPM) that blocks non-accessibility applications from accessing the Accessibility Services API and automatically revokes existing grants on activation, directly addressing a persistent malware abuse vector (Anatsa, Cerberus, Octo, stalkerware families) that application-layer and MDM controls have consistently failed to contain. This is an informational item with no CVE; no immediate patch action is required, but enterprise Android fleet owners should begin auditing current Accessibility Services permission grants and assessing application compatibility now to prepare for AAPM enforcement ahead of the Android 17 stable release. Immediate detection effort should focus on existing Accessibility Services abuse patterns in EMM audit logs and mobile EDR telemetry, as the vector remains fully active until AAPM is deployed at stable channel.
