OpenAI Enlists BCG, McKinsey, Accenture, and Capgemini to Sell AI Agents to Enterprise

4 partners signed
1 min read OpenAI Blog Confirmed
OpenAI launched its Frontier Alliances program on February 23, signing multi-year deals with four of the world's largest consulting firms. The program puts BCG, McKinsey, Accenture, and Capgemini on the front lines of selling and deploying OpenAI's AI agent platform into enterprise accounts.

The playbook is familiar. SAP did it. Oracle did it. Salesforce did it. Build the platform, then recruit the consulting ecosystem to push it into every Fortune 500. OpenAI’s Frontier Alliances follows the same model, but the product it’s distributing (AI agents that automate knowledge work) threatens the consulting firms’ own delivery models in ways enterprise software never did.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The structure is multi-year with early adopter clients already named: HP, Intuit, Oracle, State Farm, Thermo Fisher, and Uber. Additional companies including BBVA, Cisco, and T-Mobile are running pilots. All four consulting partners confirmed participation through their own press channels.

The competitive signal is worth watching. These same consulting firms also implement Microsoft, Google, and Amazon AI tools. By formalizing a named alliance, OpenAI is creating switching costs and channel loyalty that its hyperscaler competitors don’t currently match with dedicated consulting programs.

For SaaS vendors, the implications cut deeper. Industry analysts have noted that the consulting partners who sell enterprise subscriptions to incumbent platforms are now simultaneously selling a rival. OpenAI isn’t just building technology. It’s building a distribution engine that runs on the same rails enterprise software has used for decades, and that’s a harder moat to replicate than a model benchmark.
